Two Tadpoles

We traveled to Defiance this weekend for Adam's 10 year high school class reunion. We took no pictures at the reunion - not much to photograph there - but we got some cute pics of our kids swimming in his parents' pool. Our friends the Bergmans in Miami got Clementine her first bikini, and she looked adorable in it!

Thanks for the bikini, Bug! I slipped it on her when her Dad wasn't looking!

Clark with his floaties on but still not sure about getting in the water.

Clementine jumped in the water with Grandma for the first time! This isn't the best picture to prove it, but she really liked the water until it got to be naptime.

Once he finally ventured in, Clark had a great time splashing and floating with the help of Grandma and Aunt Vicki!

Clark was singing to Clementine last night. I think he was singing, "Jesus Loves Me" when this picture was made, but the funniest song he sings is his own blended medley of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." Somehow he thinks those are one song.

This picture is hilarious because they have the same expression. For Clark, it's his "smile," but Clementine's expression means, "Feed me and put me to bed, please."

The boys at the OTBA 4th of July Festival near our church. It's a great thing that started last year, and half of the proceeds from their silent auction benefitted Central Ohio Work Camp. Thanks! The parade ends at this festival at Orange Middle School with lots of food & entertainment as well as games and booths with all sorts of stuff going on there. It was a mini-carnival. Clark loved it! Maybe next year we'll buy tickets and actually let him ride some stuff. He's still too young to appreciate it all. He's still content just looking at some stuff. Thank goodness because it's a lot cheaper that way!

Tired boys in the afternoon. Like father, like son.

Clementine on her way to her first Westerville 4th Fireworks Show!

Wow - a picture of Adam & Mary Beth together and without kids - those are rare these days! Thanks for capturing the moment, Sam!

What a sweet picture of two really tired kids late at night on the 4th of July!

Clementine's first Indians game! She made her inaugural Cleveland trip on June 16 and got to see the Atlanta Braves reign victorious over the Tribe much to her mother's delight. It was a really boring game, though. She did great - slept the whole way there, the whole way back, and still slept through the night! The weather was great - perfectly mild. She was awake during most of the game and quite content. Glad she liked it, because it was the first of many days spent at the ballpark with this family!

This is actually a 6-9 month sized onesie, but it fit her pretty well. Not that she's that big - it just must be really small. Thanks to the Thompson family for her Indians gear - Adam doesn't want to talk to Toby about the recent difficulty the Indians have experienced vs. the Tigers.

Dad & Clementine chillin' in Johnson Hall at Lipscomb. Life with a newborn for a week in a dorm room - quite the experience.

AC had a castle float in the Orange Township 4th of July parade to advertise our VBS coming up in August. Clark stood in this window the entire parade. (Sorry the pics are out of order - that's how they uploaded and it was easier to keep them this way!)

Lots to do in the summertime!

We've done a lot the past few weeks! Clark spent a week with Grandma & Papa Metz, came home for two days, and then spent a week in Tennessee with Grandma & Papa Hastings. During the two days he was home we took Clementine to her first Indians game (Braves won!!). Clementine spent the week in Tennessee with Mom, Dad, & four AC girls in Nashville attending Impact at Lipscomb University. I'll get pictures from Cleveland & Tennessee up later - those pictures are on Dad's computer still.

Clementine is great and is now two months old! She & Clark both had check-ups yesterday. Clementine is rapidly approaching 11 pounds, and Clark weighs in at a whopping 34 pounds! He is in the 70th percentile for heighth and 80th percentile for weight. Clementine has been sleeping great through the night for several weeks now, but Clark has been waking up! He now wants the hallway light on when he goes to sleep, so if he wakes up at 2:30 and sees that we turned it off, we hear, "Light on! Light on!"

Check back soon for our Independence Day pics as well as photos from our day at the lake coming up soon! We're also anticipating a visit from Uncle Andy, so I'm sure we'll have plenty Kodak moments to share then!

Our friend Danette came in from Toledo for a weekend visit to meet the kids and relax with the Metzes. Clark loved hanging out with her, and by the end of the weekend he finally got her name right!

Clementine on July 1 - two months old! Pardon the wet chin...she loves to blow bubbles!

This is the bedtime routine - story time with Dad. Right now they're reading Shel Silverstein poems. Clark sees Shel's picture on the back of the book and says, "Oohh, scary monster!" witha shudder.

She's smiling now! She gave her first smile to Dad on his birthday!

Daddy's girl at one of the many parks within walking distance of our house.

Ruth came over for some special time with Clark before her vacation. He welcomed her into his "moon house" for a story.

There are only a few times that we take pictures of our children with the absolute intention of using the photo for embarrassment or perhaps blackmail. This was definitely one of those times. He's wearing a pair of his favorite "jamas," but they're a bit small on him now (despite the fact that they are a size 4). The attire combined with his new favorite action & catch phrase, "Oh, yeah!" while giving a thumbs up just creates an all too embarrasing yet picture perfect toddler moment.
